3 June: Kristian Vigenin MEP joins the European Alzheimer’s Alliance

Kristian Vigenin MEPAlzheimer Europe is delighted to announce that Kristian Vigenin MEP (S&D, Bulgaria) has joined the European Alzheimer’s Alliance (EAA). We very much look forward to working with him to help ensure dementia is a policy priority at a European level. The EAA currently has 89 members from 22 Member States of the European Union.


3 June: Alzheimer Europe hosts a European Parliament Lunch Debate on “Preparing for new Alzheimer’s treatments in Europe”

Speakers and MEP co-hosts at our lunch debate of 3 JuneOur European Parliament Lunch Debate held on 3 June was co-hosted by Sirpa Pietikäinen MEP (Finland), Romana Jerković MEP (Croatia) and Hilde Vautmans MEP (Belgium), Co-Chairs of the European Alzheimer’s Alliance. We are very grateful to them for their support and to our speakers, Sebastiaan Engelborghs, Linus Jönsson and Miia Kivipelto and to everyone who participated.


4 June: Five new full members welcomed and 2024 Annual and Financial Report approved during our AGM in Brussels

Representatives from our five new membersAt our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 4 June, five new full member associations were welcomed, and our 2024 Annual Report was unanimously adopted. The report is now available for download via our website, and printed copies will be available at our Annual Conference in October. All new full members (from Armenia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine), were unanimously approved by the AGM. Congratulations to all of them!


13 June: Alzheimer Europe invites artists using photography or painting to apply for its 2025 Anti-Stigma Award

2024 Anti Stigma Award winnersTogether with the Alzheimer Europe Foundation, we are delighted to announce the launch of our 2025 Anti-Stigma Award. This year, we would like to recognise a European artist using photography or painting to address stigma and convey a positive image of dementia and people living with dementia. The deadline for applications is 1 September.
