28 October: 2018-2020 EWGPWD confirmed

The European Working Group of People with Dementia (EWGPWD) began a new term at a meeting in Barcelona on 28 October. The group welcomed four new members, said goodbye to one departing member and reconfirmed its Chair and Vice-Chair.

29 October: AE has a new Board and two new members

At the Alzheimer Europe (AE) Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Barcelona, members voted in a new Board for the 2018-2020 term and welcomed two new provisional member organisations, Alzheimer’s Disease Association Macedonia and NGO Living with Dementia, Estonia.

31 October: AE holds successful 28th Annual Conference

The 28th Alzheimer Europe Conference “Making dementia a European priority” was held in Barcelona on 29-31 October 2018, under the Honorary Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sofía of Spain. More than 800 participants from 46 countries attended the conference, which had  239 speakers and 175 poster presenters.

8 November: EU Accessibility Act - provisional agreement reached

European CommissionA provisional agreement on the European Accessibility Act has been reached by the European Parliament and European Council . The European Accessibility Act will set out new EU-wide minimum requirements on accessibility on a number of products and service.
